LEWISTON CAN BE PART OF A BELL-RINGING WAVE ACROSS THE WORLD!
At the near close of a challenging year, we can all be together on Christmas Eve by participating in the CHRISTMAS EVE JINGLE, and Lewiston Mayor Mark Cayer is helping to spread the word! The idea was born in the United Kingdom and quickly went global.
On Christmas Eve, December 24th, folks are encouraged to step outside their home (or from wherever they may be) at 6 p.m. (within their own time zone) and ring a bell for two minutes. What a way for a community to unite!
Originator Mary Beggs-Reid who refers to the idea as a bell-ringing wave across the world, notes, "Ring a bell for two minutes to spread Christmas spirit and to help Santa fly that sleigh." What a fun memory for all of us who choose to participate!
