The Landlord Liaison Program seeks to provide financial and supportive incentives to local landlords willing to rent to tenants who have been unhoused or are at risk of becoming unhoused.
Participating landlords receive a $1,500 signing bonus that is a direct payment. Participating landlords are also eligible for up to $5,000 per apartment in reimbursements for expenses related to the improvement of their buildings and the enhancement of building features. Additionally, landlords are eligible for up to $5,000 per apartment as part of a Risk Mitigation Fund should tenant-caused damage exceed security deposit amounts.
Lewiston’s Landlord Liaison Program offers landlords support services that include direct access to a Housing Advocate, who can act as a liaison between tenant and landlord. This Housing Advocate also provides mandatory supports to participating tenants. These supports include mandatory weekly/monthly check-ins on site in the apartment, inclusive case management and additional supports as needed to ensure tenants are rent-compliant and good neighbors.
